October 4th 700 am-9:00am Mt. Pleasant Assisted Living and Pleasant Springs Healthcare invite the community to "drive up" to Mt. Pleasant Assisted LIving for free doughnuts and coffee. Located at 2007 N. Edwards.
October 4th 12:00 Noon. Paint the Town Pink Kick-off & Survivor Celebration at Caldwell park. The Community is invited to participate in the city-wide "Awareness is the 1st Step" Shoe Design Decoration Competition. There will be a viewing of the decorated shoes at the Kickoff! All persons entering in the shoe contest must have their shoe entered by 10:00 am on October 4th . For more information and rules regarding the shoe design competition, please visit www.titusregional.com or www.sallyshope.org. Winners will be announced at the kickoff. Refreshments will be served.
October 15th National Mammography Day! Schedule your mammogram and thank your radiolgist and mammographers for a job well done. All individuals getting their mammograms at the Breast and Diagnostic Health Center in the month of October will receive a beautiful pink rose and will be entered into a drawing for a "Think-Pink" basket.
October 16th Free Clinical Breast Exams sponsored by the Breast and Diagnostic Health Center will be from 8:00am to 11:00am, located at 2015 Mulberry, Suite 340. Walk-ins only, no appointment needed.
October 17th Pink Ribbon Sunday. All churches are invited to share a life-saving message of breast cancer early detection and wear a pink lapel pin. You may contact the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org/1-800-ACS-2345 or visit a local retail shop for pink lapel pins.
October 18th-22nd Paint the Town Pink Week. Businesses show support by decorating storefronts. Mount Pleasant is invited to pink up the entire community with pink ribbons on the doors of their homes, trees, etc. You may purchase a pink bow for $5.00 to place on your door from Mills Flowers at 903-572-3951.
October 18th TRMC employees compete in "Awareness is the 1st Step" Shoe Design & Decorating Competition. The community is invited to view the decorated shoes in the mall lobby of the Hospital after 10:00 am.
October 18-22nd PTTP Committee Judge "Paint the Town Pink" Business decorations with winners announced on October 22nd.
October 19th 12:00-2:00pm. Power of a Healthy Woman Luncheon located at Tennison Activity Center. Cost is $7.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door. Seating is limited and tickets will be available starting September 1st. Tickets may be purschased at the TRMC Registration Cashiere, TRMC Medical Plaza Cashier, Community Women's Clinic and Breast and Diagnostic Health Center.
October 22nd Think Pink Day. The community wears pink initiative to support Breast Cancer Awareness. The newly designed PTTP T-shirts and Sally's Hope T-shirts are for sale. All tshirts must be ordered and prepaid by Oct 4th.
The Breast & Diagnost Health Center at TRMC offers screening mammgrams for $65.00 and must be paid by cash or credit card. In addition, there is a $50 radiologist interpretation fee for reading the exam. Self-referral is permitted. For individuals (male and female) that cannot afford a mammogram please call Sally's Hope representative, Carleen Pope, Cancer Care Coordinator at 903-577-6053.
